Blackpool Council

Location: Blackpool
Installer: Eaga
Number of properties: 2
Measures: Loft Insulation

The Project
Blackpool Council decided to use Eaga's expertise to insulate two of its rehabilitation centres. The two buildings will be used to provide care for elderly residents, therefore they needed to create a comfortably and warm environment for them.

During the loft survey, the properties were found to have only 100 mm of loft insulation, however the current recommended depth is 270mm. Eaga was able to add a further layer of insulation, on top of the existing layer, which would help to reduce the amount of heat lost through the roof. As well as creating a warmer, more comfortable environment for the residents of the centre, Blackpool council have also seen significant savings in their energy bills and have calculated that they will save 10% on the annual gas bills or around £3,000 across both properties per year at current gas prices.

Ian Buckle, Senior Energy and Water Officer said: "We were impressed with Eaga's willingness to come out and quote for the work and also with their competitive prices. The work was completed efficiently and we have had no complaints with the workmanship".

Mr Buckle added, "Staff at the properties were impressed with the tidiness of the workmen on site and we expect to continue working with Eaga on other properties in our portfolios."
