The Product:
The architect utilised PermaRock's Lamella system, a non-combustible mineral fibre insulated render system, which when applied onto new blockwork and dense reinforced concrete allowed U-values to be achieved that were far superior than the Part L requirements (at the time of construction), in areas as low as 0.28W/m²K.

UNiversity LincolnThe standard of finish required by the client had to be of the highest quality, with the specifier choosing PermaRock's acrylic textured render in a single colour, white, throughout. The systems ability to create a plumb, flat surface and the installation of pre-formed framing units to create a seamless abutment to the Velfac windows enabled a dazzling clean finish to be achieved and ensured the strong cubist form and sharp lines of the design were achieved.

The architect wanted to make a strong sculptural statement, a building that would be imaginative and truly representative of what architecture should be.

The School of Architecture was awarded the best use of insulated render in the new build commercial sector at the INCA awards in 2005.

Other Awards; Short listed for the Prime Ministers Award for the Best Public Building and was Highly Commended for RIBA East Midlands Awards.
