Free insulation for anyone over 70, or on benefits
If you're over 70, living in a rented or owned house in England or Wales you're entitled to free cavity and/or loft insulation. To apply for free insulation call Eaga on 0800 317997 or apply online.

Warm Front
If you live in England you maybe eligible for a grant under the Warm Front scheme. Warm Front Grants are available in England; other schemes operate in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland
Applicants meeting the following criteria may be eligible for a Warm Front Grant:
1. Householders aged 60 or over in receipt of one or more of the following benefits:
- Income Support
- Council Tax Benefit
- Housing Benefit
- Job Seekers Allowance (income-based)
- Pension Credit
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
2. Householders with a child under 16, or pregnant women with maternity certificate MAT-B1, in receipt of one or more of the following benefits:
- Income Support
- Council Tax Benefit
- Housing Benefit
- Job Seekers Allowance (income-based)
- Pension Credit
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
3. Householders in receipt of one or more of the following benefits:
- Working Tax Credit (with an income of less than £16,040, which must include a disability element)
- Disability Living Allowance
- Child Tax Credit (with an income of less than £16,040)
- Housing Benefit (which must include a disability premium)
- Income Support (which must include a disability premium)
- Council Tax Benefit (which must include a disability premium)
- War Disablement Pension (which must include a mobility supplement or Constant Attendance Allowance)
- Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit (which must include a Constant Attendance Allowance)
- Attendance Allowance

Warm Deal
In most cases eaga Scotland has access to grants for FREE insulation. You may be eligible for a grant to insulate your if you are a homeowner or rent from a private landlord. The Scottish Executive funded Warm Deal Grant provides energy efficiency measures. If you are in receipt of a qualifying benefit you may receive up to £500 worth of energy efficiency measures installed in you home.
Warm Deal Grants are available in Scotland only; other schemes operate in England, Wales and Scotland.
Applicants meeting the following criteria may be eligible for a Warm Deal Grant:
1. Householders aged 60 or over in receipt of one or more of the following benefits:
- Income Support
- Council Tax Benefit (not 25% single discount)
- Housing Benefit
- Job Seekers Allowance (income-based)
- Pension Credit (Guarantee Element)
3. Householders in receipt of one or more of the following benefits:
- Working Tax Credit (with an income of less than £16,017)
- Disability Living Allowance
- Child Tax Credit (with an income of less than £16,017)
- Housing Benefit or Housing Allowance
- Income Support
- Council Tax Benefit (not 25% single discount)
- War Disablement Pension (which must include a mobility supplement or Constant Attendance Allowance)
- Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit (which must include a mobility supplement or Constant Attendance Allowance)
- Attendance Allowance
- Children (under 16) who receive Disability Living Allowance.
If you are not in receipt of a qualifying benefit but are over 60 years of age you may receive a 25% grant of up to a maximum of £125.

HEES Wales
If you live in Wales you maybe eligible for a grant under the HEES Wales Scheme. HEES Grants are available in Wales only; other schemes operate in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland
There are two levels of the grant; HEES is for householders who are pregnant and in receipt of a MAT B1 certificate or families with children under 16. HEES Plus is for householders who are 60 and over, lone parents with children under 16 and persons who are receiving certain sickness or disability related benefits. All must be in receipt of the relevant benefits or allowances.
HEES (Grant of up to £2,000)
Householders who either have a child aged under 16 or are pregnant and have been given maternity certificate MAT B1 and are in receipt of one or more of the following benefits:
- Income Support
- Working Tax Credit (with income less than £16,060)
- Council Tax Benefit
- Child Tax Credit (with income less than £16,060)
- Housing Benefit
- Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
HEES Plus (grant of up to £3,600)
Householders who are either aged 60 or over or are lone parent families with a child aged less than 16 years, and are in receipt of one or more of the following benefits:
- Income Support
- Housing Benefit
- State Pension Credit
- Council Tax Benefit
- Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance; or
Or householders who are disabled or chronically ill and are receiving one or more of the following benefits:
- Income Support (which must include the Disability Premium)
- Working Tax Credit (which must include the Disability Premium)
- Housing Benefit (which must include the Disability Premium)
- Council Tax Benefit (which must include the Disability Premium)
- War Disablement Pension (which must include Constant Attendance Allowance or Mobility Supplement)
- Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit (which must include Constant Attendance Allowance)
- Disability Living Allowance
- Attendance Allowance
Or householders, claiming Child Benefit, with a child under 16, with the child receiving:
- Disability Living Allowance
Householders living in Wales who are aged over 80 do not need to be in receipt of any benefits to automatically qualify for HEES Plus.
If you are aged 60 or over and you own your home, you may be eligible to claim up to £500 towards the cost of energy efficiency improvements, even if you are not in receipt of any benefits.
